The Bull Moose Project

Platform Version 1.0

Strong. Independent. Free.

Middle America is the heartland of our nation—where people treat others with respect, where common sense still guides decisions, and where doing the right thing is just part of daily life. But it’s more than geography. It also represents the middle ground that most Americans still believe in—practical, conscientious, respectful and considerate.

In an age of noise and performative outrage, we believe real strength comes from quiet confidence—and the ability to act with purpose when it counts. The Bull Moose Project picks up the mantle of a movement born over a century ago, dusts it off, and carries it forward—because the work is not yet finished.

1. Personal Freedom by Default

-       Government exists to serve—not to smother. The Bull Moose Project believes individuals should live free from unnecessary regulation.

-       Government help, should be available when requested, not mandated, unless lives are at risk.

-       From rooftop construction to small businesses, Americans deserve to choose for themselves.

-       The role of government is to protect safety, not dictate daily life.

-       “Don’t Tread on Me.”

-       Protect personal freedoms. Live and let live. From the Second Amendment to a woman’s right to choose. No government, religion or organization should tell its people how to lead their lives.

-       Respect other’s rights to different beliefs.

2. Lean, Honest Government

-       We support strong oversight only where it matters most—like public health, environmental safety, and business corruption.

-       Eliminate the bloated bureaucracy that slows housing, infrastructure, and progress.

-       Streamline permits, reduce red tape, and trust innovative people to lead.

-       Overturn Citizen United. Overturn Corporations rights as a “person” and other concepts that give unfair protection to corporations, encourages to act unlawfully, sway independent thinking, and/or cater to shielding mainly the wealthy.

-       Remove the antiquated electoral college king makers. Elections are about popular vote where, regardless of state, EVERY vote matters, and that’s it. No more district gerrymandering.

3. One Term. One Purpose.

-       Bull Moose candidates serve one term—then they step aside.

-       Six-year senators, Eight year Congresspeople, Four-year Presidents. No career politicians. Focus on the work, no re-election campaigns. Get work done then hand your work to the next eager public servant.

-       Public service is a duty, not a ladder.

-       Politics as a career ends today.  This ensures focus, honesty, and action—not political survival ort personal agendas.

4. Defend Democracy Without Exception

We protect what matters most: our democratic institutions.

-       Free and fair elections

-       A nonpartisan judiciary

-       Freedom of speech, press, and peaceful protest, however at times distasteful.

-       Zero tolerance for authoritarianism in any form

5. Economic Freedom for the Middle Class

The Bull Moose Project supports those who keep this country running.

-       Empower small businesses and entrepreneurs

-       Remove pointless barriers to upward mobility

-       Rein in government practices that favor monopolies or insiders

-       No tariffs that hurt business; free world trade is the basis for our strength.

6. The Common Ground Project

We reject division and tribalism. We are the Project of the middle—of character and conscience.

-       This is where shared values live: fairness, honesty, hard work.

-       We speak plainly. We act boldly. We listen carefully.

-       We're not here to fight the culture war. We're here to fix what's not working.

-       We are ONE. We are Americans, we don’t hate anyone. That’s not what this country is about.

7. Lending a Hand

We believe people can fall on hard times. The government can help, but not forever.

-       Nationalized health care we can be proud of with the best doctors we can produce, and paid well.

-       Free College tuition at non-private universities and vocational trade schools.

8. Defend our country to protect our people

We live in a changing world order.

-       Our military will be strong, but we won’t be policeman of the world.

-       We’ll help others with diplomacy, food and health, but American lives won’t be spent protecting other countries, yet we will defend free trade.

9. Protect what we have

-       We’ll protect our national parks, an enduring treasure advanced by our founding member.

-       We’ll use other government lands to find our own natural resources such as oil and minerals, yet we’ll ensure the environment is protected from our extraction efforts.

-       We’ll also protect you from the things that can truly harm you, like arsenic, nuclear waste, or other carcinogens in your air and water.

10. Value Science

Science and strong education are the backbone of innovation and greatness.

11. Educational Leadership

We believe leaders should be educated. Education provides perspective, but so does practical experience.

-       We’ll find the best spectrum of educated leaders, and that’s not just from the Ivy Leagues. Sometimes “book smart” trumps an Ivy League Degree. Both are necessary for informed decisions and policy.

-       We’ll no longer sit idly by and watch China advance beyond us both in education and technology.

-       We will design a new national exam, along the lines of European national exams for national competency and provide incentives for teachers to move to the areas of greatest need.

12. Immigration

We believe in tightly managed borders. We realize many see America as the “Land of Opportunity”. However, circumstances have changed in 100 years and we cannot let anyone and everyone who chooses to arrive at our border a free asylum pass to enter. We need to offer a balance of immigration with empathy. Immigration and opportunity have been the magnet for innovation, research and economic strength, we don’t want to lose that.

-       We will expand the budget and speed of worker permits. These permits can only be obtained in their country of origin, NOT at the border.

-       Each country’s local US Department of State will work to determine the quota for that specific country based on population as well as local political climate. They can accurately assess if there is a local humanitarian crisis requiring additional asylum entries. These quotas will change each year.

-       We will establish third-Project international review centers—run in partnership with trusted allies, NGOs, and U.S. State Department teams—to evaluate urgent asylum claims before individuals reach the U.S. border. These regional hubs will screen for genuine humanitarian threats, reducing fraud, streamlining decisions, and protecting our border while honoring our values. Asylum requests will be validated by our people in the country of origin.

-       Anyone arriving at our border without a prior work permit, visa, or asylum entry will not be admitted or will be sent back to their home country. There’s no “sanctuary” anywhere if you’ve come here illegally. Current illegal immigrants can apply for work passes, yet, will be sent home if not part of the legal pathway for work, potential green card or citizenship.

-       The message is clear: We want immigrants, always have. They provide a backbone to replenishing and advancing our workforce. Yet, the process must be managed along with immigrant expectations.

13. Homelessness and City Pride

How can we be the wealthiest nation on earth, and still not find a solution for the homeless? How can we let our beautiful cities like Hollywood and New York, tourist destinations for the world, look so shoddy and uncared for? We will revitalize our aging cities to return America to the destination for the world. Europe has done it, so shall we.

14. Time to revisit The New Deal

The social works projects of the New Deal catapulted the United States into an economic powerhouse. That was 1933-1938.  Those projects need our stewardship and care. We will launch a new social works program with updated infrastructure and systems that make our nation function effectively. This will provide jobs at a time when so many Americans are struggling to find employment. Infrastructure, Safety through Law Enforcement and Fire Prevention, Heavy Industry, Petroleum innovation, Scientific and Medical Innovation.

14. Separation of Church and State

The Bill of Rights was simple it stated, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

Bull Moose believes in a clear separation of Church and State as has always been the case since the Bill of Rights were ratified in 1791 and we see no reason to change it.
